Beyond Paper: Cyanotype on Fabric & Wood
Paint with the sun — this time, on fabric and wood. My first cyanotype class explored paper; in Beyond Paper, we go further: cotton and silk fabric, and wood (MDF, lime, birch), building layered mixed-media pieces beyond the page.
This hands-on class moves through 6 filmed, step-by-step projects. On fabric: a Botanical Mandala printed with dried plants and mounted on wood with gold; a photo-to-acetate print on cotton with dried flowers, medium effects, and acrylic; and a silk print mounted on wood. On wood: an honest look at experiments that didn't work, then a moon-and-tree MDF piece, a feather on lime wood, and a two-part fern-and-frame project on birch, extended with hand-painted details.
You'll finish with a set of framable pieces on fabric and wood, and the confidence to keep exploring cyanotype beyond paper. All levels welcome.
