What is included in this master class?



This class is all about practice. After learning about the anatomy of a brush and moving your brushes with some exercises inspired by Ingrid’s garden, the first project consist of six small paintings with the goal of exploring the balance between water and pigment.

To put movement and color into practice, Ingrid offers a second project called Creative Garden, followed up by an unusual approach to wreath painting that she calls the Wild Wreath. And as a bonus, you will learn how to paint a Loose Watercolor Orchid in under 20 minutes.

Esta clase es sobre practicar con nuestros pinceles. Después de aprender sobre la anatomía de un pincel y mover tus pinceles con algunos ejercicios inspirados en el jardín de Ingrid, el primer proyecto consta de seis pequeñas pinturas con el objetivo de explorar el equilibrio entre el agua y el pigmento.

Para poner en práctica movimiento y color, Ingrid ofrece un segundo proyecto llamado 'Jardín creativo', seguido de un enfoque inusual para pintar una corona de flores que ella llama 'Corona salvaje'. Finalmente, aprenderás a pintar una orquídea en un estilo muy suelto en menos de 20 minutos.


From the studio to the garden


During the first masterclass, Ingrid opened 'the virtual classroom’ with an insight into her daily life running a creative business from her studio. In this second masterclass, she shares with you her favourite place: her garden during the blooming season.

Hold your brushes


Ingrid will share with you her favourite brushes and how she uses them to paint without the need for drawing first. Learn to create all kind of brushstrokes to paint botanical and abstract paintings using not only your brushes, but alternative tools and your intuition.

Mini Abstract Collection


After a warm-up session in the garden painting botanicals, Ingrid will introduce color with a project of six mini paintings to explore the balance between water and pigment. You will be able to paint any theme of your choice, but using only your brushstrokes.

Creative Garden

To put the brushstroke and color practice together, you will learn how with little planning, but a lot of practice, Ingrid paints a watercolor inspired by her garden. She will also explain how she uses acrylic to finalise some of her paintings.

Wild Wreath

Learn to work in unusual ways to unblock the creativity and remove the fear of the white paper. Ingrid will introduce an experimental approach to have some fun and invite you to be brave while painting a watercolor wreath.

Loose Watercolor Orchid

Bonus! Learn to paint a loose floral watercolor in under 20 minutes. You will see all the steps, from planning to the process in real time. This easy, fun approach can be applied to all kinds of flowers, you just need to find your favourite one.

About your teacher


Ingrid Sanchez, also known as CreativeIngrid is a Mexican-British watercolor artist, designer, author and teacher based in London, U.K.

She is known for her colorful watercolors inspired by nature, as well as her vibrant and energetic brushstrokes. Her favorite themes include flowers, moons and the sea. Ingrid has being leading creative workshops for over 7 years in different parts of the world, including Barcelona, New York, Amsterdam and London.

Through commercial and licensing projects, her brand 'CreativeIngrid' can be found worldwide on a variety of products like art prints, stationery and home decor accessories. Her first solo book 'DIY Watercolor Christmas' was published in 2021.

1. Who is this course for?​
For anyone interested in learning and deepening their practice of watercolours.​​

This workshop focuses on how I use my brushes to generate all kinds of shapes to paint in my abstract and botanical style.

Beginners will benefit from the introduction to choosing the right supplies and how to go about using them depending on your individual needs.

​​Intermediate and advanced students will be able to see how I work in my studio, learn more about my signature style, and get new ideas to incorporate into their own styles.​

2. In what format is the course? Classes are pre-recorded, so you can take them at your own pace. These classes include optional subtitles in English and Spanish.

4. What if I have a question?​


Every lecture has a section for comments that I will be constantly checking and answering.

​If I see that there are questions that are repeated frequently, I will add another lecture to answer and provide advice in specific areas.

​​5. How long will I have access to my course?

From the date of your purchase, you will have unlimited access for two years. If you have not finished your course within this time, just contact me and I will happily make it available again if the course remains active.​​

6. What materials do I need?
​

You will find a PDF with a list of supplies and suggestions of where to buy them.​​

7. What level do I require for this course?
​

This class is suitable for all levels. If you feel that you don’t need the introduction and theory of the class, you can skip those lectures, but in my experience even advanced students can benefit from watching another artist work using a different style.

​​8. What is the difference between your in-person and online classes?​

My in-person workshops are four hours long and hosted in my studio, where I guide my students to paint one main theme, usually loose florals or botanical moons. ​

These online master classes are designed to cover a wider range of themes, from the use of supplies, suggestions on how to gather inspiration, the importance of posture, and insights into how I work in my studio, including several demos where you can take a closer look at how I work.
